Johanna Karimäki

Vihreä liitto
I am a teacher and a mother, a regional councilor for Western Uusimaa, a city councilor in Espoo, the chair of the Environment and Building Committee, and a member of the Tapiola Parish Council. I hold a Master of Science in Engineering and work as a teacher of mathematics, physics, and chemistry.
I am an active and competent politician with extensive experience in parliamentary and council work. My initiatives have led to the implementation of projects such as the Gumböle River fishway and a public barbecue area along the Matinkylä waterfront trail.
My latest council initiatives have focused on improving public transport for school commutes, expanding municipal veterinary services, protecting hedgehogs, acquiring sports equipment for community parks, and launching a tree-planting campaign in schools and daycare centers. Schools can now order saplings from the city for planting!

Election goals

-Green Espoo is a diverse cultural city where life is good, and getting around is easy.
-I want to ensure the quality of education and early childhood education.
-I want to promote residents' health by investing in physical activity and ensuring every child and young person has a hobby.
-We should maintain municipal finances, strengthen the revenue base, and support employment.
-I will protect local forests and waterways.
