Marianne Taipale
Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue
I am a 60 yrs old M.Sc. (Eng.) and a teacher of mathematical subjects (STEM) in the media sector at Stadin Ammattiopisto, vocational institute.
I am serving my first term as TFiF's (association for Swedish speaking MSc in engineering or architecture, or a corresponding degree in mathematics or natural sciences. ) representative on TEK's education policy committee and election committee, as well as a deputy member of TEK's council. In addition, I work as a small entrepreneur in my freetime. I have experience as a business advisor, an expert in entrepreneurship education, and a consultant for SME food companies.
My hobbies include walking in nature (mushroom- and berry picking), and walking our dogs.
I have previously served as a municipal councilor and held other positions of trust in the municipality of Pohja (now Raasepori), as well as being a deputy member of the Swedish-speaking section of the Board of Education of the City of Helsinki.
Let's build a Helsinki where well-being, equality, and sustainability are at the center!
I want to promote high-quality education, research, and science and ensure their accessibility for everyone.
The well-being of the working population is important to me: Helsinki should have affordable housing, efficient public transport connections, and comfortable, safe public spaces. Helsinki must be a city where every residential area offers the conditions for a good life.
My goal is also to invest in climate action and the green transition, creating a sustainable future for our city.

Election goals
Election Theme: Education, Equality, Clean Indoor Air, Affordable Housing, and a Sustainable FutureHelsinki needs strong leadership that prioritizes education, research, and equal opportunities for all.
Every resident of Helsinki must have the right to quality education and a healthy learning environment. That is why I demand clean indoor air in schools and sufficient resources for necessary renovations.
Affordable housing is essential to keep Helsinki diverse and open to everyone. I want to ensure that there are enough reasonably priced homes so that young people, students, and families can build their lives without the fear of unreasonably high housing costs.
My goal is a sustainable, fair, and inclusive Helsinki, where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
Our city is diverse and international—let’s make it even more equal and vibrant.
