Description
Since moving to Finland and Espoo in 2016, I have been active in supporting and advocating for a more international society. This began in student culture at Aalto University, and has continued in my three years working at TEK. I believe in a Finland where talent matters more than background, and where technology and humanity combine to make stronger cities and a stronger country. For that future, we need representation and understanding of those for whom Finland was not their first home.Election goals
I want to create an Espoo for Everyone. 16% of Espoo's residents do not have Finnish citizenship. They are a group that includes students and experts who have the talent to live anywhere they wish, but have chosen our country and our city. We must do better for them. In brief, I believe there are three areas of action that Espoo needs:1) Internationality - representation and inclusion of international residents and their views
2) Employment - using the TE-office reforms to provide employment services that better serve our residents
3) Students - ensuring that student life at Aalto University continues to thrive, in order to keep producing the talent of the future
From my history, experience and motivation, all of these are areas I know I can improve by being elected.
