Description
I am an architect (M.Sc) and will defend my doctoral dissertation in spatial planning in the beginning of April. In this election period, I have acted as a deputy city council member in Helsinki, as the chairperson of the Environment and Permits subcommittee, and as a deputy member of the Urban planning committee. In these positions, I have advocated for natural conservation, accessible local services, lively and pleasant urban environments, high-quality landscape architecture, and attractive walking and cycling routes. I have also worked for advances to accessibility, for reductions of demolition of buildings that could be renovated, and for better opportunities for citizen participation. As a politician, I act bravely and cooperatively, backing my decision-making with the best available research findings.
Election goals
I will work for Helsinki to provide a good everyday life and services for all its citizens. I promise to protect nature, local green areas, culture and our building heritage. I will work tirelessly for a more green, sustainable and beautiful city, where local services are easily accessible.
