Structure of the programme
The TEK mentoring programme starts on October 2025 and ends on April 2026.
The six-month programme will include an induction, confidential discussions with your partner and inspiration from joint events and online material to support the mentoring. In addition, TEK career coaches will support participants throughout the mentoring process.
The core of the programme is the mentor-mentee discussions, which we recommend you have about once a month for six months. The TEK mentoring programme is held online, so you can participate from anywhere in Finland or the world. Of course, if geographical distance allows, the pairs can also meet face-to-face if they wish.
The mentoring programme will be launched at the end of October with a joint launch event. You will then know how to start building a successful mentoring process. The programme will also include other joint events to provide tips and inspiration to support your mentoring. In joint events, you will also meet the other participants in the programme! A more detailed schedule of the programme will be sent to those selected for the programme, together with information about your mentoring partner.
Who is mentoring for?
Mentor:
- You want to give an hour or so of your time a month to help someone else with professional development, thinking about their next career steps or clarifying their place in the world of work.
- Not only will you be able to support the mentee in various career issues, but you will also be able to learn for yourself. Mentoring gives a lot to both, the mentee and the mentor. We offer support in the role of mentor, so you don't need to have previous mentoring experience!
Mentee:
- You need support to strengthen your professional identity, identify your strengths, reflect on your career plans, or spar with a more experienced professional in your field.
- You are ready to open your mind and reflect on your career development from different perspectives.
- We require mentees to be full members of TEK for the duration of the programme.
Due to the nature of the mentoring programme, we require all participants to commit to the full six-month programme, including approximately six sessions with their partner and attendance at the common sessions of the programme.
What do you get from the programme?
As an mentee, you can dive deeper into topics that are professionally important to you and spar on your own path with a professional who may have made similar choices and understands your career path.
Often, mentors are able to analyse their own career better after mentoring and reflect on their own future plans from a new perspective. TEK's mentoring programme is based on the ideas of coaching and you can use these lessons in your own work context and career.

Applying for the programme
Welcome to apply! You can apply via the link at the top of the page. The application period close on 7 September.
Please indicate in your application the language (Finnish/English) you would like to work with your partner. We will run the programme bilingually. For couples working in English, all joint events are in English. For those working in Finnish, the meetings are in Finnish. Support materials for the programme are available in the language of your choice.
We will match mentors and mentees based on their compatibility. Please fill out the application carefully so that we have all the necessary basic information to find you a matching pair. This will give the mentoring process the best possible start. Please note that this year, for the first time, we are also using artificial intelligence to support the pairing process.
We will announce who is selected in September.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the application process: markus.lindholm@tek.fi, maisa.holm@tek.fi.
