At the end of January, the number of unemployed university graduates in the tech sector was 2 425. The unemployment rate was 3.4 %. This has not changed over the course of a month.
The number of laid off employees dropped dramatically during January. At the end of January, 573 persons were laid off. There was a 60 % drop in this number when compared to December. The number of laid off people decreased regardless of their educational background.
– The drop in the number of laid off people is great news. However, we cannot know if this situation is permanent. At the moment, predicting changes to the labour market over the coming spring is difficult, says TEK’s Labour Market Director Teemu Hankamäki.
