The Industrial Union (Teollisuusliitto) and Trade Union Pro announced on 10th January that they will start pressure measures in the technology industry, if no agreement on a new collective agreement is reached before then. The measures will take place between 27th January and 1st February. The Industrial Union has also announced pressure measures in the chemical industry at the same time.
The announced measures do not apply to senior salaried employees in the technology industry or in the chemical industry and therefore they do not apply to TEK members in senior salaried positions. In the event of the announced strikes, senior salaried employees will stay in their own duties.
What if the strikes by the Industrial Union or Trade Union Pro apply to me?
If the strike applies to a TEK member, i.e. if you work in a company subject to a strike in a position covered by the collective agreement for the technology industry by the Industrial Union or Pro, or you work in chemical industry covered by the collective agreement agreed by the Industrial Union, and you decide to take part in the strike, the TEK member will be paid a strike allowance of €90 per day of strike, for up to five days per week.
You can apply for the strike allowance only after the strike, but before 17th February. To apply for the strike allowance, please contact: jaana.saaksberg@tek.fi. The allowance will typically be paid in 2-3 weeks after the application.
