Teekkari Culture in Jyväskylä

In Jyväskylä, the first Teekkari programme began in Autumn 2021. Even though the beginning was challenging due to the COVID19 pandemic, Fuksi were still able to design Jyväskylä’s own Teekkari cap, which was worn for the first time on Wappu Eve 2022. On the same day, the first Teekkari Baptism was also performed in the icy waters of Lake Jyväsjärvi.

The Jyväskylä Teekkari cap has eight corners, matching the compass shape of Jyväskylä’s footpaths. The lining is dark blue and orange, with a cockade of JYY’s torch surrounded by a wheel of technology.

In general, the young Teekkari culture in Jyväskylä grows year by year. More Teekkari programmes are set to begin in Jyväskylä, meaning the university and the Teekkari culture within it face an exciting couple of years ahead.
