TEK is actively involved in the promotion of interests and collective agreement negotiations in the university sector through the negotiation organization JUKO. In addition, we offer our members advice in employment related issues both directly from TEK's experts and in cooperation with employee representatives at workplaces.
At universities that provide technology education, many of the employee representatives are members of TEK. You can always ask them for advice, especially on local issues.
The person responsible for TEK's university affairs is Daniel Valtakari. He can be approached with your personal issues and in matters related to collective agreement negotiations more broadly. Typical personal issues include employment issues, wellbeing in the workplace, and inappropriate treatment. In addition, you can receive advice and support in matters such as intellectual property law. If necessary, TEK's lawyers also support you in employment-related situations. We serve you in English, Finnish and Swedish.
The collective agreement negotiations and related activities are carried out in such a way that TEK participates in JUKO's University Advisory Board (Yliopistoneuvottelukunta, YNK), which deals with all matters related to negotiation activities and which, in accordance with the feedback received from the members, sets goals for collective agreement negotiations.
