This ended up being a thank you column. I resigned from my position as chair of TEK’s board at the beginning of the year when my appointment as Minister for Science and Culture was brought forward. It has been a great pleasure and an honour to serve as TEK’s chair. It has also brought me back to the world of technology, science and research and innovation. They help us build a more sustainable world and a better work life. There is no other way to save the world as effectively.
We have raised awareness of TEK and the importance of experts in seeking solutions for the future and building wellbeing. Finland is increasing its investment in RDI. Thank you to you, our members – TEK is a diverse, growing and wonderful community. We at TEK are caring, cooperative and productive. We foster scientific curiosity and confidence, and a joyful teekkari mindset and culture. I hope that our TEK community will continue to be known for these qualities.
Thank you to the General Councils for their trust in me and for the forward-looking council agreements that have guided our work. Thank you Vice-Chairs Mupi, Arto, Jari. Thank you to all those who served on the boards for the constructive and trusting atmosphere, the ability to work for the good of our members. All this makes me proud.
Thank you to CEO Jari and everyone working at TEK. Your expertise and great attitude are reflected in the way you serve members in matters big and small, from the labour market to wellbeing. Although I am leaving TEK’s management, TEK is not leaving me. Let’s keep in touch and build the future together!
