The General Council elected TEK’s new presiding officers, a new board and approved the council agreement negotiated by the council factions. The agreement sets the direction for our organisation for the following three-year period.
At TEK, we want to build an equal work life and society. We’ve achieved results and been rewarded, but there’s still work to be done. We have an equality guide and offer different tools to dismantle discriminatory structures and change attitudes in work life. Everyone has the right to be themselves at work and the right to a fair work life.
The balance of work and family life is key to a good work life. This is what TEK promotes through advocacy work and work on collective agreements. Ensuring a proper salary level for TEK members is one of the main objectives of our advocacy. We also aim to uphold a high level of competence and a sufficient number of skilled workers in the field of technology and to contribute to the internationalisation of the labour market. We will continue to work on effective, personalised and proactive member services. Their development is based on the wishes and needs of TEK members.
At TEK, we will continue our efforts in building a more sustainable society by harnessing digitalisation and the green transition. We must take the initiative to influence the relevant legislation and collective agreements.
A sustainable future depends to a large extent on how the interaction between humanity, technology and society works and how development progresses. Values and people need to be at the centre, not on the sidelines.
