Dear reader, I am extremely pleased that you are reading our first entirely English issue of TEK Magazine!
TEK is a community of about 82,000 members with higher education degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Mathematics, ICT and related areas. We also have more than 25,000 student members.
Our mission is to build better (work) life and more sustainable world.
To achieve this, we negotiate and conclude, on behalf of our professional community, collective agreements related to salaries and conditions of employment.
We at TEK believe, that reasonable and fair employment conditions ensure the wellbeing of everyone within our professional community. In Finland, it's completely fine to belong to a trade union. Roughly 50 % of Finnish employees belong to one.
Furthermore, we provide our members with great variety of services to support them in different kind of situations in their work life. These include career coaching, legal services, as well as advice and events about AI, wellbeing, entrepreneurship, self-management, working conditions, salaries, just to mention a few.
We work hard for high quality education, research and innovation activities in Finland. We want to ensure that professionals in Finland are equipped with the best skills and competencies on an international scale. We at TEK also promote sustainable technology for the benefit of people, the environment and society.
