TEK is a trade union for academic engineers and architects in Finland.

Code developed in Finland to model nuclear reactors is already one of the best known in the world

The Serpent code, which originated from a doctoral dissertation, is used by more than 200 organisations, including MIT and Cambridge. The calculation code models the interaction of neutrons and photons. The team at VTT that has been developing the code was presented with the Cornerstone Award by TEK and TFiF.
